Francine Joy "Fran" Drescher (born September 30, 1957) is an American film and television actress, comedian, screenwriter, director, producer, author, singer, talk show host, political lobbyist and health activist. Drescher is best known for playing Fran Fine on the television series The Nanny, for which she was nominated for two Emmys and two Golden Globe Awards, and is most recognizable for her strong Queens, NY accent.
